I have a little history using the Rival Cool Touch Deep Fryer. They work pretty good. Not something I am going to trade for my Delonghi but I still don’t mind using them. I have a couple friends that still have their Rival and really like using them.
I have spent MANY MANY hours researching and reading consumer reviews on deep fryers. I have made a list of deep fryers that are overall the best on the market. They range in price, but if I were buying a deep fryer for the home, it would come off of this list. This list is a result of MANY hours of research. All of the deep fryers are sold at Amazon. And the winner for the worlds ugliest deep fryer in the world goes to…….. The Rival CF160 Cool Touch Deep Fryer. To be completely honest the main reason I reviewed this one was because of its sheer unique and 
hideous look. I think they though that it would look cool sitting in the kitchen next to your black coffee maker and white refrigerator?? Ya I know they were very very wrong…
Lets talk performance. It’s really not a big deep fryer and was primarily made for someone looking to deep fry some wings. I would not recommend using this deep fryer for making a large dinner. Also just a quick tip, do not submerge this in water. My daughter learned that lesson the hard way, I had her clean it and it did not work the next day. Overall it fries the food nicely as long as you do not have much in there. You can’t really see anything so you kind of have to rely on the timing of the frying. If you have to have a Rival Cool Touch Deep Fryer, I would be looking at one of the next two fryers instead.

This Rival Cool Touch Deep Fryer is a little easier on the eyes and is bound to match your fridge a little 
better. We started using it right after we got it, and we think it’s great. It’s easy to use, there aren’t a million different buttons and switches. The frying basket has a fold down handle, so it stays out of the way and is easy to store (though it’s still quite large). It does take a little while to heat up, longer than the oven, but french fries and similar frozen foods that we used to bake taste so much better when they’re fried, it’s worth the extra time. It can also be a little frightening to use the first time–it’s full of hot oil, it’s loud, and quite hot once it heats up. But use caution and follow the instructions, and you’ll quickly get the hang of it!

This is definitely my favorite Rival Cool Touch Deep Fryer. One of my favorite parts of it is the way it looks. It kind of resembles R2D2 from Star Wars. Sorry, my inner dork just jumped out at you momentarily. It is 
actually a nice performing Deep Fryer, lets talk about it!
Its large capacity lets you really cook for a family with ease. The timer prevents overcooking and the basket makes lifting out and draining so easy! The pieces come out for easy cleaning, and there’s less risk of burns since you don’t have the risk of popping grease that you do with a skillet. If there is a flaw to this fryer, it’s the amount of Crisco that you need…more than I expected, although we re-use it. Very nice appliance.
